In today’s fast-paced, high tech society, teaching children manners is more crucial than ever. One of the most important jobs we have as parents and teachers is to help children develop social skills, show them how to interact with others in a polite manner, and teach them to treat everyone with respect. Whether the occasion is a family gathering, a meal at a restaurant, or a quick trip to the grocery store, children can apply our lessons in any social situations and practice good manners so that they become a habitual part of their lives and set them apart. Topics Include: The Importance of Greeting Others, Rules of Introduction, The Handshake, Eye Contact, and the Power of a Smile, Self-Respect and Respect for others, Proper Telephone Etiquette, Writing Thank You, and Other Modern Manners. Zoom links are sent the day prior. Please make sure your child's screen is set up so students are able to stand in front of the screen from the waist up as we will discuss psoture and body language. You will learn how to feel safe and confident standing on the ice, as well as all the tools and techniques for catching fish thru the ice. This is a two-part program with the first session being a virtual learn to ice fish clinic, followed by a short field experience on the ice (TBD). Slow Flow yoga provides poses that range from gentle to challenging, but done with stable, self-centering energy. The pace of these classes is understandably slower and emphasis is placed on safe alignment and the maintaining balance of the slow breathing. The toned-down speed builds strength, stability, and postural integrity. Slow flow is more conducive to the meditative practices of mindfulness of action and awareness of breathing by allowing you to notice the space between poses while still retaining a gentle rhythm of movement. This makes it particularly well-suited to newer students, or for those who desire deep concentration within their practice. Please bring a mat to class. Instructor: Cheryl Wolf Adults 18 and older, 10 classes, Virtual Classes on Zoom
